Non Fiction

Although best known for his children's fiction, Malcolm Saville (who was never a full-time writer) wrote a large number of non-fiction books throughout his career. The information he gleaned in the research for his non-fiction work wasn't wasted when writing his stories, especially the extensive knowledge which he had of country matters. The countryside, with its animals and plants, the seaside and the various parts of England that he visited, was integral to his fiction. His body of work reveals a man with wide-ranging and deep interests and is well worth reading.
