Dorset coast weekend - Lyme Regis

Dorset coast weekend - Lyme Regis

The Society last visited this area in 2011 so many members may not have had a chance to visit the Jurassic Coast, which is England's sole natural UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Our base will be the town of Lyme Regis which was the setting for The Secret of the Hidden Pool, a "Michael and Mary" adventure. Michael and Mary go on holiday to Lyme Regis in Dorset and become involved in a mystery about hidden treasure. After narrowly escaping a landslide, the mystery is resolved.

Inexpensive, unabridged copies are available from the Society's online book service.

Attendees will need to arrange their own accommodation. We will be eating in local pubs/hotels.

The weekend activities will involve two walks. On Saturday, we will walk on part of the South-West Coast Path (with an accompanying tram ride) and on Sunday there will be a walk/climb to Golden Cap, at 627 feet the highest point on England's South coast. It will primarily be a walking weekend and attendees should be prepared for this. The Saturday walk is likely to be around 7 miles (with some potentially challenging underfoot conditions in part) and the Sunday one around 4 miles. The exact details will not be finalised until nearer the time and are subject to weather conditions on the day.

For a booking form, please send an email to events@witchend.com.

Numbers will be capped at 25 on a first come, first served basis. The deadline for bookings is 30 June 2026 (or earlier if the event becomes full).

PLEASE NOTE THAT BOOKING FORMS CAN ONLY BE ACCEPTED FROM PAID UP SOCIETY MEMBERS
