Birmingham Lunch

Yet another successful lunch for members of this wonderful Society. There were 13 of us - yes, 13! Unlucky for some but not for us...

It was a gorgeous, warm day. Many of us had travelled some distance to Piccolino, in Brindley Place. Fortunately, trains and trams were on time. There were lots of 'Oh it's good to see you', 'I recognise you', and 'It's good to match the name with a face' (me).

We talked about Torquay, Hereford and Lowestoft. Also the next events. Discussed books of all shapes and genre. We discussed football and other sports. The quiz was a great success - Pam and Mike M winning. Thanks to Nick Brailsford for this. Nick still uses the Mackee book he won at a previous lunch.

The food was gorgeous, well cooked and served hot and with a smile. There was only one mix-up, which was dealt with easily.
All in all, a fantastic time!
